Wood decks require a fire resistant pad for our Patina Fire Pit. A flagstone looks very good or a commercially available fire proof pad in a variety of designs can be purchased locally.
When originally taken from the box you will notice the Patina (rust) powder finish that may come off on your hands. A few burnings and this will go away leaving the naturally aged patina look that makes these fire pits so appealing. You can also wash it with a light soap and water to remove the dusty coating.
